official parking lots

Geneva airport has six main parking lots, not including the Kiss & Fly drop-off area. Here’s an overview of the parking lots, sorted by proximity to the terminals:

The parking lot P1located just 50 meters from Terminal 1, is an ideal covered parking lot for those who want direct access. The same applies to P1-MV, designed for motorcycles and other two-wheelers.

The P20 parking lot is only accessible from France.

Parking P2 is designed for stays of less than an hour.

The P51 parking lot, recommended for long-term parking, is about an 8-minute walk from Terminal 1. It’s a popular option for travelers.

Parking lot P26 has similar characteristics to P51. It is partially covered and about ten minutes’ walk from Terminal 1.

How to choose the ideal parking lot at Geneva airport?

Several criteria are important.

Depending on parking duration

All official parking lots, with the exception of P2 (reserved for short-term stops), are suitable for longer stays.

For its part, ArenaPark offers total flexibility, with solutions for both short and long-term parking. What’s more, its sliding-scale tariffs and rapid shuttle service are a real plus.

Depending on your budget

Official parking lots, such as P1 and P20, are the closest but also the most expensive, especially for longer stays. Their rates can represent a substantial investment.

ArenaPark combines competitive prices with included services, such as the free shuttle to the terminals. So you get excellent value for money without sacrificing comfort.

Add your title here

Geneva airport’s official parking lots generally receive positive reviews their proximity to the terminals. However, many travelers point to their high cost.

In contrast, ArenaPark stands out for its very positive feedback, which highlights :

  • Unbeatable value for money.
  • Attentive, responsive customer service.
  • Regular, efficient shuttles.

Easy access to Geneva airport parking lots

The advantage of Geneva airport is its compact size, which facilitates access to the various parking lots. The airport layout is relatively simple.

Access map to each parking lot

Thanks to its direct connection to the Swiss A1 freeway, Geneva airport is easily accessible, wherever you’re coming from.

  • P1, P2 and P26: these parking lots are directly accessible from the A1 freeway. Simply follow the signs for “Parking Terminal 1”.
  • P20: accessible via Ferney-Voltaire customs, just follow the signs for the French sector of the airport.
  • P51: “Long-term parking” signs.
  • ArenaPark: perfectly positioned just 3 minutes by shuttle from terminal 1, ArenaPark is accessible from both France and Switzerland.

💡 Tip: the exact address of ArenaPark is Chemin de l’Avanchet 26, 1216 Cointrin.

Itinerary from downtown Geneva

How to get to the airport from downtown Geneva here’s a quick and easy route:

Head northwest across the Pont du Mont-Blanc.
Continue straight ahead on Avenue de France.
Continue on Avenue Louis-Casaï (Route de Meyrin), following signs for the airport.
This route covers approximately 4 kilometers and generally takes between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on traffic.

💡 Good to know: this route does not use the A1 freeway, which means you don’t need a Swiss motorway vignette.

Itinerary from the French border

To reach Geneva airport by car from the French border, there are two main routes.

The A40 freeway to Geneva

Take the A40 freeway towards Geneva, following the signs for Lausanne/Geneva-Airport.
At the Swiss border, pass through Bardonnex customs, where you can buy the Swiss motorway vignette required to use Swiss freeways.
Once in Switzerland, continue on the freeway, following the signs for “Genève-Aéroport”.

Ferney-Voltaire customs to access the France sector

From Annecy or Chambéry, take the A41 freeway towards Geneva. On the outskirts of Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, take the “St-Julien-en-Genevois” exit and follow the N201 towards Geneva. Go through Perly customs, then follow signs for “Aéroport/Palexpo”.

If you are coming from Gex or Ferney-Voltaire, follow the D984 towards Ferney-Voltaire. Before reaching the Ferney customs post, turn right, following the signs for “Aéroport secteur France”. This route provides direct access to the French sector of the airport, without entering Swiss territory.

💡 Please note: until you reach customs (Bardonnex or Ferney-Voltaire), roads and freeways are French. Once through customs, roads become Swiss, and freeway use requires a vignette autoroutière.

Free shuttles to the terminals

The shuttles are a convenient way of transporting passengers between parking lots and terminals. However, not all Geneva airport parking lots offer this service.

The most remote official parking lots, such as P51 and P26, have no shuttle service. Passengers must therefore walk to the terminals.

Private parking lots, often located a little further away, usually offer a shuttle service. However, there may be a charge for this service. BibiPark, for example, charges CHF 30 for a round-trip shuttle.

☀️ With ArenaPark, the transfer is both fast (just 3 minutes) and completely free of charge.
