A trip can be both a great source of happiness and a source of anxiety, as there can be so many details to take care of before you leave.
Among these details, parking your car is an important criterion.
While you’ll enjoy the comfort of your own vehicle, you’ll have to leave it in a paid-for area, which generates additional costs, and you’ll also have to check that the place where you leave it is sufficiently reliable.
How do you make this choice?
This article shows you all the possibilities at Geneva-Cointrin airport.
What types of parking lots are available?
Official airport parking lots
During its construction and expansion, Geneva Airport included a number of parking lots close to the terminal. There are 5 for cars, adapted to different parking durations.
The P2 parking lot is a short-term parking lot for quick stops, open 24 hours a day, with a recommended maximum parking time of one hour. P2 has 147 spaces, two of which are dedicated to the disabled. It offers direct access to the terminal. It is equipped with a fast-charging station for electric vehicles, with specially reserved spaces.
Rates :
- First 5 minutes: free.
- 30 – 30 mn : CHF 3.
- 45 – 60 mn : CHF 5.
Parking lot P1 is a premium long-term covered parking lot, open 24 hours a day, right next to the terminal. It has 2,100 spaces, 480 of which are reservable, and 30 on level -1 dedicated to the disabled. This level also has three spaces reserved for electric vehicles.
It’s the most expensive, along with the P20.
Parking P20 is a covered long-term parking lot with 214 non-reservable spaces. This parking lot is open from 5:00 am to 11:30 pm. It is important to note that access is only possible from France, via the Route Douanière next to the French customs office in Ferney-Voltaire. P20 is equipped with six disabled parking spaces.
P1 and P20 prices:
- 1 day : CHF 38
- 4 days: CHF 128
- 1 week: CHF 197
- 2 weeks: CHF 407
Parking lot P51 is a partially covered long-term parking lot open 24 hours a day, located 500 m from the main terminal.
Along with P26, it’s one of the least expensive, as it’s the furthest away. P51 has 1100 spaces, 290 of which are reservable. Two spaces per floor are reserved for the disabled. P51 is also equipped with three spaces reserved for electric vehicles.
The P26 parking lot at Geneva airport is a covered long-term parking lot, open 24 hours a day, located beneath Geneva Arena. It has 760 spaces, of which 250 are reservable and 20 are dedicated to disabled people (level -1 and level -3). Electric vehicles have 13 spaces on level -1.
Prices for P51 and P26:
- 1 day : CHF 30
- 4 days: CHF 81
- 1 week: CHF 132
- 2 weeks: CHF 237
Visit private parking lots
The first private parking lots around Geneva airport began to appear in the 2000s, in response to demand for cheaper, more flexible options than the airport’s official parking lots, especially for travellers who need to leave their vehicles for longer periods.
They’re a little further from the airport, but they’re undeniably good deals.
Over the years, the number of private parking lots has grown, offering a variety of services, such as shuttles, valet parking, online booking options, and even car washing or maintenance services while the owners are away.
At present, there are some fifteen private parking lots competing with Geneva Airport’s official parking lots.
Of these, only six are accredited by Geneva Airport, including Arena Park.
How do you choose the ideal parking lot for your car?
Terminal proximity
This is of course an important criterion, especially if you’re in a hurry, have heavy luggage to carry, or are accompanied by children or people with reduced mobility.
If this is your priority, parking lot P1 is one of the best options, as it’s the closest to the boarding terminal.
It is, of course, the most expensive option, as proximity comes at a price.
That said, don’t overlook the private parking lots with free shuttles, which will get you from the parking lot to the terminal in no time. Such is the case with Arena Park, whose shuttle bus takes you to the airport in just 3 minutes, saving you a trip on foot.
Safety and surveillance
This is also an important point.
We recommend that you carry out thorough research before choosing a parking lot.
Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is there 24-hour video surveillance?
- Are there dedicated surveillance personnel?
- Is the parking lot fenced?
- Is the parking lot covered?
Arena Park can answer a resounding “yes” to every one of these questions!
Rates and services included
By way of example, we can make a comparison between the P1 premium parking lot and Arena Park:
- 4 days: CHF 90 for Arena Park vs. CHF 128 for P1.
- 1 week: CHF 120 for Arena Park vs. CHF 197 for P1.
- 2 weeks: CHF 190 for Arena Park vs. CHF 407 for P1.
Here’s a comparison of the services offered by the two parking lots.
Arena Park
- Seat reservations (100% of seats are reservable),
- Free, fast shuttle (3 minutes),
- Vehicle cleaning service,
- Visual inspection of the vehicle,
- Valet parking.
Parking P1
Seat reservations (480 of the 2,100 existing seats can be reserved).
Arena Park, the ideal choice for parking your car
Competitive rates
The comparison with the P1 parking lot is indisputable: Arena Park’s rates are much lower.
Now it’s time to compare all the parking lots at Geneva Airport, also known as Aéroport de Genève Cointrin.
Parking | Tentative rates |
---|---|
Arena Park |
4 days: CHF 90 1 week: CHF 120 2 weeks: CHF 190 |
Parking P1 and P20 |
4 days = CHF 128 1 week = CHF 197 2 weeks = CHF 407 |
Parking P26 and P51 |
4 days = CHF 81 1 week = CHF 132 2 weeks = CHF 237 |
As you can see, Arena Park’s rates are particularly competitive for long-term parking: from CHF 237 for two weeks in P26 or P51, the reputedly cheapest parking lots, to CHF 190 with Arena Park, a saving of 25%.
Added benefits and services
Of course, our aim is to provide a pleasant parking experience.
To achieve this, we offer additional services that you won’t find in Geneva Airport’s official parking lots, or in some private parking lots.
First of all, let’s mention the free, fast shuttle service: a shuttle bus transports passengers between the parking lot and the airport terminals. It’s free, unlike some private parking lots such as BibiPark, which charge CHF 30 for the shuttle.
What’s more, it takes just three minutes to reach the airport, whereas BibiPark’s shuttle takes around 8 minutes. Parking P51, the furthest away from the terminals, does not offer a shuttle service.
Secondly, Arena Park offers the possibility of having your car cleaned while you are away, for a modest fee:
- Interior cleaning: CHF 90
- Exterior cleaning: CHF 80
- Interior + exterior cleaning: CHF 165
We can also carry out a visual inspection of your car on arrival.
Finally, our valet parking can collect your car from the parking lot entrance when you arrive, and park it in its final location.

“Excellent service, especially on our return! The American shuttle driver (Denis?) was very responsive! As soon as we arrived, we received a call from him informing us that he was waiting for us. 10 minutes later, leaving the airport, we boarded the shuttle directly. Very attentive, helpful and professional! Excellent! Well done, Denis! Many thanks to Arena Park!”
